The Haggis
The lyrics of Auld Lang Syne rang out at Clyde & Co’s Burns Supper, taking place in the prodigious Merchant Taylors’ Hall. We’re privileged and delighted that Burns Supper is one of our recurring events in the calendar, and we try to make each one special. This year was no exception!
“But we hae meat
and we can eat”
Getting the audio right is key for an event like this. The Great Hall is an impressive space, over 700 years old, and needed the right approach to make sure that speakers, performers, pipers, and communal poetry and songs had the impact they deserved. We supplied a number of E8 speakers, tie clip and wireless handheld microphones, as well as Shure SM58 wired mics and AKG condenser mics specifically to support musical entertainment.
A mixture of our Prolights SMART BAT Uplighters, Chauvet Ovation Fresnels, and Chauvet COLORado Q15 LED Battens gave contrast and depth to the visual impression of the event.
After the haggis was piped in, the client wanted to share an important message from the Haggis Wildlife Foundation, and we were happy to support with our Panasonic PT-RZ970 Laser Projector and accompanying screen. A night of toasts, song, and whisky followed late into the night.
As always, we are grateful to assist in this heritage cultural event with such a lovely team and we raise a glass to many more.
