Client: A Major Global Investment Company
Venue: Royal Courts of Justice and The Grove Hotel
The Brief
First Network built a set with an integrated octagonal projection screen to represent the lens of a camera shutter. The screen surround was back-lit with individual LEDS to outline each strut of the shutter doors, providing a striking backdrop for speeches.
Delegates were encouraged to participate in the day via Ipads on each table.
The Royal Courts of Justice provided a spectacular venue for the evening event, but came with its own challenges for our production team. Since the venue is a working court during the day, First Network weren’t able to start setting-up until early evening. Our team worked through the night and the venue was transformed and ready for rehearsals by first light.
A glittering affair, the evening gala dinner combined a full sit down meal for 120 delegates and a packed entertainment programme of aerial artists, jugglers, musicians and a special appearance by the opera singer, Camilla Kerslake.
I just wanted to thank you and the entire team for all of your efforts over the last few days, it was a truly world class delivery by First Network. From the breakout rooms to the main plenary room to the Royal Courts of Justice, every aspect of delivery was flawless. The confidence that our senior stakeholders have in you and the team is phenomenal which not only makes my life easier but gives them great confidence when presenting.
The Solution
First Network sent a 40ft artic truck of kit on the 1200-mile 3-day journey to Stockholm. The equipment arrived on schedule early Monday morning ready to set up for the following day.
Our team of 15 included technicians, camera operators, project managers and sound engineers. A professional show caller was also appointed to cue the lights, video and audio. Our famous LED wall took centre stage once again. Constructed to dimensions of 11.5m x 2.5m, it provided a striking and practical backdrop to presentations.
Pip images on screen included live action camera footage and IMAG. Presentations were also live-streamed via webcast for the benefit of those delegates unable to attend in person.
This was an internal Global Leadership Conference and as such the vibe was dynamic, upbeat and relatively informal. Presentations played to a Scandinavian theme with presenters dressed as Vikings, the inclusion of a traditional Swedish Fika Cafe on stage and even a designated ABBA day!
The venue has an unusual vaulted ceiling with different eaves levels which posed some logistical complications. But at First Network we love a challenge! Custom-built twin trusses were installed to accommodate lighting rigs and speakers. The LED wall also had to be carefully engineered to fit snugly under the tiered ceiling levels.
Delegates were able to interact with presenters via our client’s Event Polling App, casting votes via phone or tablet. The presenters were then able to switch seamlessly from question to the live results as they were recorded.
First Network provided branding around the venue in areas such as the registration desk, coat check and main reception.
The event culminated in an evening dinner celebration at Stockholm’s Vasa Museum.
