Client: British Heart Foundation

Venue: Canary Wharf

The Brief

British Heart Foundation organise many sponsored events across Britain throughout the year. At the Canary Wharf Jog, First Network provided staging and audio systems to support both the run itself, and the mass warm-up which was to take place before the event.

The stage needed to be easily transported, suitable for the outdoor venue, and big enough to make an impact in the huge open-plan space. With 1200 participants to reach, the sound system needed to be able to deliver some punch!

The charity ran a series of presentations with video sound facilitated by First Network and Tanya from Canary Wharf’s ‘Reebok Club’ lead runners in a mass warm-up.

The Solution

First Network provided a 6ft high, 8×16 stage with steps and a state of the art 8-speaker PA system. A smaller PA on the final leg of the course was used to make announcements and to play motivational music for the runners.

More than 1200 people took part, pounding the pavements against the backdrop of the estates gleaming towers. They raised a total of £45,000 for the British Heart Foundation, money which will be pumped back into the charity’s life-saving research into heart disease.

The day was a resounding success, and First Network were so pleased to have been able to lend support to such a fantastic cause.
